Acetal or Polyoxymethylene Copolymer (POM-C) is amongst the strongest and stiffest of all thermoplastics. Acetal sheet, acetal plate, acetal rod, and acetal tube have a wide operating temperature range of between +105°C and -40°C. Acetal also offers a unique high surface strength.
Acetal has good strength and stiffness, high dimensional stability, wide temperature range, low water absorption, good sliding properties, and is food contact approved. Acetal plastics are also characterised by good fatigue life, low moisture sensitivity, and high resistance to solvents and chemicals. Acetal products also contain good electrical properties.
Acetal is used in a variety of applications including bearings, gear wheels, wear guides, and locking systems.
Acetal is available in sheet and rod form and comes in a range of thicknesses. The colours available are natural and black.
