UHMWPE (PE1000)

Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene is commonly abbreviated as UHMWPE and also referred to as PE1000. Polyethylene PE1000 grade offers exceptional and unique combination of low friction surface, great impact strength and wear and corrosion resistance. UHMWPE retains key physical properties and high impact strength, even at low temperatures down to -30C. This excellent general-purpose plastic with self-lubricating properties offers noise reduction and low friction surface. UHMWPE offers good chemical resistance and low moisture absorption. UHWMPE (natural) is an outstanding solution for food handling components, and meets FDA, USDA and 3-A Dairy guidelines for food processing and handling.

UHMWPE offers excellent wear resistance and sliding properties, high impact strength, wide temperature range (+80°C to -200°C), low coefficient of friction, very low moisture absorption (<0.1%) and is food contact approved.

UHMWPE is often used in food processing, conveyor and bottling industries, general machining, plant machining, and bulk material handling industries.

UHMWPE is available in natural, black, and green and in a range of thicknesses. It comes in sheet and rod form.
